Steps to Receiving Your Report:

1. Order: Once you place your order, we’ll send you the HTMA kit in a trackable USPS Ground Advantage envelope (note: it does not come in a box). The kit includes:

   • Submittal form

   • Hair sample envelope

   • Cardboard scale (for approx. 1 heaping tablespoon of hair)

   • Full instructions for sample collection

2. International Clients (incl. Canada): You’ll receive your instructions via email for faster processing. Kits can be shipped upon request (additional fee applies—contact us).

3. Hair Sample Collection:

   • Use clean, dry hair cut from the first 1.5 inches closest to the scalp, from several locations. Proximal portion is retained for your sample and end pieces of hair strands discarded.

   • Recently colored hair is acceptable, if dye/treatment was chemically based and contains NO minerals. Dyes like Grecian Formula and henna contain lead acetate or mineral salts with metals - they will make your test results invalid.

   • Avoid taking samples after using softened water. Hair should be washed at least 3x in non-softened water.

   • Be sure to submit at least 125 mg of hair (use the provided scale and add a bit extra just in case).

4. Mail Your Sample:

   • Send your hair sample and submittal form directly to Trace Elements, Inc. using the provided envelope.

   • Use USPS Ground Advantage, Priority Mail, or a courier so you can track the delivery.

   • Your submittal form is already signed—no doctor signature is required.

5. Receiving Results:

   • The lab typically processes your sample within 7–12 calendar days.

   • We will email your digital PDF report within 2 business days after receiving it.

   • If you added a consultation, you'll receive client portal access for result delivery and scheduling.

   • If you requested a color printed report, expect delivery by mail in 7–10 days (longer for international).

🕒 Estimated turnaround from order to results: 2–4 weeks, depending on when you mail in your sample.
